No, I didn't think it was, but I definitely think it would help the situation.

While I would agree that we should have more than two parties, that wasn't the point I was trying to make here.

I wonder if the McCain camp had access to Guliani's speech beforehand. I hope not. I had absolutely no opinion of the man before he got on stage, and now I can't stand to even type his name. For someone who has been on the talk show circuits the past 2 days crying about an unfair media attack on Governor Palin, for a campaign whose stance has been, "the other guy's an elitist," Guliani's speech did nothing but prove him and his party hypocritical. It wasn't that he attacked Obama and Biden; that was to be expected. It was that he mocked Obama, made fun of him, laughed, sneered, and snickered like this was some kind of Comedy Central "Roast." Republicans should feel ashamed.

I got what I expected out of Palin's appearance; McCain hired her some damn good speech writers (which reminds me, Obama writes his own speeches). But I don't know if she appealed to any new voters. Democratic women are smart enough to see through this "more experience than Obama/Biden combined" crap. I don't think she draws in any new male voters. She doesn't affect minorities or college educated folk. She was brought in to make sure that the people who SHOULD be voting for McCain WILL be voting for McCain. And since he's already down 6 to 8 points in most polls, and the electoral college map is looking awfully red, that's just not going to be enough.

I think that you've pointed out a generally ignored problem with our country--the two party system is dumb. We'd find a lot less scorn and hate for the opposing parties if there was actually more choice.

I definitely agree with you on this one. I know there were people who voted for Bush for political reasons, and while I disagree with those voters, I tend to at least respect them. It's the people who voted for him because he was the most like them that I don't understand.

Like you said, I believe our president should be one of the elite of the country. I want to be impressed by the person in charge of our country. I should be impressed. I don't want my president's argument towards legitimate statistics to be that it's "fuzzy math", and I don't want somebody in charge who can't pronounce "nuclear".

Yeah, from everything I've ever seen, I really like Biden. I'm definitely happy with the pick.

You definitely make a good point about Edwards, too. I wasn't even thinking about that. Maybe he would have helped bring in the adulterer votes. :)
