Back From Rose

Al and I went up to Terre Haute to visit Scott his weekend. It was pretty cool. We got to check out Scott’s crib. They had this nifty setup in the living room with a semi-deck lifting up a couple of recliners behind the couch. So you had the couch facing the tv, and then a couple recliners lifted up behind that couch facing the same way. It worked out pretty well.

In other firsts for me, Scott gave me a ride in the MR2. It was pretty nice, I enjoyed it. I rather liked how easy it was to put the top down. I also had some Thai food for the first time. It was pretty good.

One of the funniest things of the weekend, was checking out the habits of the local Haueteans (sp?). They were pretty hardcore into ricing out their cars. I got a good laugh from it. Now that I think of it, I wish that I would have taken a few pictures, because I’d personally never seen that many riced out cars in a specific area. Haha, what a waste of money.

Colts Camp

The Indiapolis Colts started their training camp today at Rose. They’re running practices on our inturmural fields, which were resodded for the event. Here’s an article about it. I’m pretty sure the school does it for the publicity. Plus, the Colts give 2 full-ride scholarships to minority students from Indiana. Now none of you probably know this, but minorities are practically nonexistent at Rose, which leads me to believe that there really aren’t many in Indiana either. This means there will probably be some really stupid kids that get full-rides. I guess it will be good to get some diversity at the school though.

The weird thing for me is the camp has made the campus a lot busier. They decorated the front entrance with blue and white flags, and there are tons more people here. They tried to charge me to park this morning. I told the guy that I work here. He didn’t seem to believe me, but he let me in anyway. I’ve been told that the studen recreation center has a bunch of their equipment in it, but I haven’t been there recently. I’ve been slacking off in that area recently, but I had been just running in a park anyway. The SRC hours aren’t all that good in the summer, and the Colts will make it worse.

Speaking of football though, my family is going to be going to the Rams vs. Seahawks game this October. My sister and I got my dad tickets for his birthday. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get very good seats. They only sell upperdeck seats for single games. That’s pretty gay if you ask me, but I guess they can sell the rest as season tickets or at least packages.
