I don’t even care about the Packers. I’ve been rooting for them this year, simple because I love Brett Favre. I just don’t see how you can’t like the guy. He throws an 80-yard TD against the Broncos in overtime, and it doesn’t even really upset me. Now that’s saying something.
I honestly thought the Packers were finished today against the Seahawks when Ryan Grant decided to fumble twice in the first 1:09. But Favre brought them back, and the Packers ended up winning a blowout. I can’t help but hope that the Packers end up upsetting the Pats in the Super Bowl, and that Favre retires on top.
The funny thing is, though, that Favre probably wouldn’t retire even then. Before this year, I thought he was crazy, and he needed to just give it up. He’s definitely brought me around since then, though.

If the Superbowl ends up being Pats/Pack or Pats/Boys, I can confidently say that the TV rating will be through the roof. So many good matchups and storylines with those teams.
If I learned one thing last night, it was that the Jags belonged on the field with the Patriots. I know that moral victories aren’t what you aim for in the playoffs of any sport, but I’m getting some satisfaction from this one. First year QB without much mileage on his body and who should be stepping into his prime years, three young WR’s who got better as the season went on, a perfectly balanced backfield who has been number two in rushing the past two years, an underrated offensive line, and a good, veteran defense who was missing at least three key pieces due to injury last night. It’s a team that is built to last, that of which I can say I am proud. We’ll be back again.

the thing about the pats this year is that we’ve seen that they’re beatable. the colts should have beaten them, the eagles should have beaten them, baltimore should have beaten them, the giants should have beaten them, and the jags could have beaten them. nobody’s been able to get it done, though. it’s sad, hehe.
as for the jags specifically, here’s a copy+paste transcript from an im conversation i had last night with a friend:
8:06:39 PM Jared Russell: damn though, the jags have to feel good going into next year
8:06:57 PM Jared Russell: williams, wilford, jones, lewis, and jones-drew are all really young.
8:07:00 PM Jared Russell: defense is always solid
8:07:03 PM Jared Russell: garrard is looking good
assuming none of the role players jump ship, there’s no reason they couldn’t be one of the teams to beat in the afc next year.
