10. Gregory House in House
Well obviously he makes this show, and it is one of my favorites. He gets to be a huge jerk and people still have to deal with him because he is so awesome. Who wouldn’t want to pull that off? Sure, his existence seems shallow at times, but it would be cool to treat people like crap and still get their respect, at least for a day or two. Also, Hugh Laurie is really funny on A Bit of Fry and Laurie, an old British sketch show from the 80’s.

9. Bart Simpson in The Simpsons
This one needs no explanation. The Simpsons is one of the greatest shows of all time, and Bart is the main character. Rebellious yet loveable, the true American boy, Bart won my heart from the beginning. He would probably go a lot higher, but like a lot of characters in this list, he does not really make the show. The Simpsons would still be pretty good without Bart. The same goes for every character that fell in the 11-15 range.

8. Steven Colbert in The Colbert Report
The Colbert Report is rapidly eclipsing The Daily Show as the de facto comedy news show. Colbert’s TV persona satirizes moronic TV hosts such as Bill O’Reilly, and I love him for it. His self-centered mockery is simply hilarious. I don’t know how to put it any other way.
7. Cartman in South Park
I love to hate him and laugh at him. Cartman is pure evil, but I just love to watch it. Cartman says the most quotable lines on the most quotable show I know. “Oh, the tears of unfathomable sadness!” “But maam!” “You will respect my authority!” South Park is pure genius. New episodes coming up soon.

6. Stewie in Family Guy
Once again, Stewie, like Cartman, is one of the most quotable characters on TV. Does the family understand him? Do they not understand him? Brian clearly does, but it is not clear with the humans. “Blast!” I just love Stewie especially when he is trying to kill Louis. It’s as though he has a reverse Oedipus complex. His British accent makes the whole thing worthwhile.
Tomorrow, characters 1-5 and then Saturday look out for my favorite character of all time.
