Interviews

I’ve got two interviews tomorrow with Google. It should be a good experience, but I’m definitely starting to get nervous about them. I’ve never actually had a real interview. On top of that, from what I’ve read, Google’s interviews are pretty tough. Oh well, it’s cool they’re even letting me interview with them.

    Google interviewer::
    tell me why The complex conjugate of a complex number z=a+b i is defined to be z=a-b i
    Jared response::
    The conjugate matrix of a matrix A = (ai j) is the matrix obtained by replacing each element ai j with its complex conjugate, A = (ai j)

    note>although difficult to put all the characters with the equations in a telephone interview, Jared managed to describe the specifics of each variable to the satisfaction of the interviewer.

    haha. i don’t really want to go into too much detail untili hear from google. for the most part, though, i’d say the first one didn’t go very well at all and the second one went better. to me, they were a lot more like ‘tests’ than interviews.
