Colts Camp

The Indiapolis Colts started their training camp today at Rose. They’re running practices on our inturmural fields, which were resodded for the event. Here’s an article about it. I’m pretty sure the school does it for the publicity. Plus, the Colts give 2 full-ride scholarships to minority students from Indiana. Now none of you probably know this, but minorities are practically nonexistent at Rose, which leads me to believe that there really aren’t many in Indiana either. This means there will probably be some really stupid kids that get full-rides. I guess it will be good to get some diversity at the school though.

The weird thing for me is the camp has made the campus a lot busier. They decorated the front entrance with blue and white flags, and there are tons more people here. They tried to charge me to park this morning. I told the guy that I work here. He didn’t seem to believe me, but he let me in anyway. I’ve been told that the studen recreation center has a bunch of their equipment in it, but I haven’t been there recently. I’ve been slacking off in that area recently, but I had been just running in a park anyway. The SRC hours aren’t all that good in the summer, and the Colts will make it worse.

Speaking of football though, my family is going to be going to the Rams vs. Seahawks game this October. My sister and I got my dad tickets for his birthday. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get very good seats. They only sell upperdeck seats for single games. That’s pretty gay if you ask me, but I guess they can sell the rest as season tickets or at least packages.

WP Template

Welp, I decided to just stick a WordPress template on here for now. The layouts I had wouldn’t have worked 100% with WordPress, so I’ll just do this until I make a new one. Actually, what I’ll do is make a WordPress theme. Hopefully it won’t suck. Haha. I’ve got some ideas already.

Oh, and this theme is called Orange Sky, and the author of the theme says it was inspired by the song. I know of at least one person who will like that. :)

Edit: Unfortunately, this also means no more shouts for the time being. Sorry, but it can’t be helped.

testing this out

Well, I’m really just trying out this new wordpress stuff to see if it works. I’ll hopefully be writing again very soon.

I went home last weekend for my dad’s birthday. He’s 50 now, over the hill.

I’m pretty much finished with all the work I’m supposed to do for the summer. I don’t know what they are going to do with me when I do finish it, which should be this afternoon. Hopefully, they’ll come up with something for me. I don’t think I’ll get fired though.

Expect Problems

I’m transitioning the site to WordPress. Expect there to be problems during this time. Shouts should work. Comments on old posts don’t work yet. I haven’t imported them, because that will take some custom code by me. Archives and old layouts don’t work either. I’ll let you guys know your usernames/passwords once I’m done with all this.

i’ve moved

So, I’ve moved into my new apartment. Don’t remember if I told you guys that I was moving, but yeah, I did. Or, rather, am in the process of moving.

It’s the apartment building right next door. I’m rooming with Mal and her friend Quetta. They were all living with Courtney, but since she graduated they needed a third roommate. And it works out well for me because it’s a lot cheaper when the rent is split between 3 people instead of paying it all on my own.

So yeah, I’ve moved in. And in Mal and Quetta’s roommate fashion, though minus Mal since she’s back in Herrin, I’m goin’ on my first Wild Country outing.

Wild Country is across the river. It’s a country line dancing club that is apparently a lot of fun according to Mal.

So yeah, that’s what’s going on with me right now.

On a side note, since Jared has been bringing up a lot of stuff in regards to politics lately, I wanted to know what you guys thought of Bush’s nominee to replace Justice O’Connor on the Supreme Court.

While I haven’t looked into this guy very much yet, I do know that’s he’s considered “right wing.” Personally, I think Bush should have chosen someone more in the middle to keep the court balanced…but then, that would be expecting to much from Bush. (Sorry in advance to those of you who like Bush).

Anyways, I gotta get ready for this Wild Co. adventure. Talk to ya all later.

P.S. I’ll actually be making it home this summer. August 5 my physics class ends and then I’m comin’ home on the following Monday. The 8th, I believe. So if you guys are still in town, I’d love to see ya guys since it’s been awhile.

Be Informed

Downing Street Memo. Read it. They underline the important parts. Read the paragraphs around those underlined parts. Seriously. This country’s going to shit.

Not In ANY Sense

Look at this. Focus on Article 11. But nowadays nobody cares. It’s sad.

Remember Bill Nye?

Bill Nye the Science Guy. He was the shit. I remember watching him. That’s really beside the point, though.

Tomorrow I’m going to the St. Louis science museum with some visiting family. They’ve got two sons–a four year old and a six year old. Plus, I have a two year old sister, so they should all have a lot of fun.

I think the last time I’ve been there, though, was like 5th grade for my gifted class. And as far as I can remember, it was actually pretty fun. So hopefully it’ll be cool remembering different things and hanging out with some family.

WordPress?

I’m thinking of switching the site over to WordPress. I’ve always used my own software for the site, but shit.. There’s no point reinventing the wheel every few months. I could write my own webmail software, but I don’t. I use Gmail. Anyway, I’m going to look into it. If there’s something I don’t like, I can always edit the source..
