Search Results

So, here’s some of the searches that have landed people at our site in the past few months…

listen to the new blink 182 cd
dks rap
rose-hulman pussy
kinyo ky-100
adult polaroid picture scavenger hunt
fire emblem movie commercial tom cruise
minizzle shizzle meaning
boredomsucks
friends rachel going to paris
goose attacks
denzyl porn
dks comedy
cereal song
eats cereal
kanakuk theme one time
deformed penius

Hehe, one of my favs out of those are ‘rose-hulman pussy,’ because I get the impression they were searching for Scott and, since they landed here, found him. (Hehe, sorry scottie :) . Another is ‘minizzle shizzle meaning.’ Obviously if you’re trying to learn to speak how all the kids do these days, Shouzer is the place to come. We’re nilla in the villa, after all. fo shizzle bizzle.

I also found the porn searches kind of funny. I don’t know what we’ve ever mentioned on the site that led a search engine to believe there’s porn here. TITS ASS CUM FUCK TEEN BRITNEY SPEARS PORN CELEB. There… Now I suppose we’re set for a while. Let’s see if that drags anybody in.

Some of the things I actually understand. It wouldn’t surprise me that one of us posted about Rachel going to Paris, and I definitely posted when I bought my Kinyo headphones. I don’t remember ever typing anything about DKS rap, but what’s stranger to me about that is that somebody was looking for it. Hehe. Still not quite sure what a penius is, though I doubt a deformed one is good. ;)

Tomorrow’s Funny Post

Hehe. I just finished looking through some of the logs for our site. I’ll be posting some of the searches that led people to our site. A few of them are actually related. Most of them aren’t, as you’d probably imagine.

Speaking of Tickets

We actually went to physically pick-up our bball season tickets. Well sure as shit, they’re pitiful. At the concert, Kyle and I were looking around to try figure whereabout they are. As near as we can figure, we’re at THE top of the arena. That sucks. Better than nothing, but not by very much I’ve gotta say. Haha, though.. The realization of just how fucking shitty our seats were made us laugh. I mean, there’s nothing we can do about it, so we might as well move on quickly.

Yellowcard Fo’ Shizzle

Me, Kyle, Al, and Matt had tickets to the Yellowcard and The Starting Line concert that was here on Thursday. So, of course, we went. That’s what you do with tickets.

Anyway, I thought Yellowcard was awesome. Obviously I already liked their music, otherwise I wouldn’t have bought the ticket, but they put on a very good show. IMHO, it’s the 2nd best live performance I’ve seen, behind my fav band (maybe I’m biased, but I think anybody would agree they were good) Green Day.

The thing that sets Yellowcard apart from most bands is that they have a violinist that plays as integral of a role to the band as the guitar players. I’d say there’s an argument to be made that he plays a bigger role. Though he doesn’t play all the time, when he does, it’s definitely the primary instrument you here, and it’s so distinguishable.

So it was definitely a money spent well. Our tickets were very good too, I think. We were basically on the first rows of bleachers behind the floor; we were in seats, but still really close to the bands.

Oh, and The Starting Line sucked. I love their cd, but they didn’t impress me at all on stage. It definitely detracts from my like of them as a whole.

First Half

Well, I’m officially happy with the first half of my semester. I got my Geography midterm back, and I got a 198/200 on it. So that means I did well on all the exams so far this semester. I had my second Calc exam this morning, and I’m not sure how I did on that. It could be good and it could be bad. Haha, we’ll find out..

Basketball Tickets

We got season tickets for basketball here at the good ‘ol U of I. That should be pretty cool. I’m more or less just hoping that I don’t have exams on any of the days that we have games, because that would be pretty weak. I would honestly think that that would be something professors would plan around, but who knows.

In preseason polls, I’ve seen us ranked between around 3rd and 10th, and usually in the 5, 6, or 7 spot. That’s awesome. The reason we’re so high is because we didn’t lose any of our starters from last year, and we did well last year, especially considering the team had a new coach.

Work Load

I’ll be pretty busy this week. Today I had to do my physics homework, physics prelab, and study for math. Tomorrow will be discrete math day, along with tuesday. We all know how long that takes, after reading a few of my posts. Wednesday will be study for math day number 2. This will include studying for both calc and linear algebra, as I have a calc exam on Friday and a linear quiz on thursday. Thursday will be Yellowcard/Starting Line day (there’s a concert), which should be pretty cool, but unfortunately takes away from my time. Friday will then be math exam day.

Granted, I would have more free time if I didn’t go to the concert, but college is supposed to be about more than just school, or so they tell me. However, it seems to be more of a “do as I say, not as I do” type of thing. If they really believed that, they wouldn’t give me so much damn work to do. And yeah, I really believe that. I think I do a lot more work than should be required.

Adblock

Anybody who uses Firefox needs to get this extension. Basically for any ad on a page, you can right-click on it and there’s an option to “Adblock Image.” If you do that, it brings up a dialog box with the link, which supports wildcards, and after you submit it or whatever, the ad is blocked from then on. It even works with flash and iframes, which is pretty sweet.

Another handy feature, though, is that most of the time, it doesn’t just hide the ad, it removes it. This means that if there’s a monster-sized ad at the top of the screen and you block it, there’s not just blank space up there.. No, that’s just silly. Silly you. Instead, all the content on the page actually moves up to fill that space. Pretty good, if you ask me.

To HL2 Or Not To HL2

I’m considering plunking down the $60 it would take to get Half-life 2, CS: Source, DoD: Source, and Half-life 1: Source. I’m sure pretty much nobody knows what I’m talking about, but it’s nilla. They’re games. Good games, at that. Just not sure I want to lay down the cash right now.

Red

It appears that my red face has returned. I thought that it had stopped getting red. I’ve heard several comments in the last few days about how red my face is. It may be interesting to note that this happened while talking to girls. It frustrates me a bit that I’m still dealing with this.

Weather

The weather in Sydney has gotten quite weird. On Wednesday, it was over 100. I went down the beach, and it was a great day. Today, it’s raining, and I had to wear a jacket because it was so cold.

A Quote

When you’re young, you look at television and think, there’s a conspiracy. The networks have conspired to dumb us down. But when you get a little older, you realize that’s not true. The networks are in business to give people exactly what they want. That’s a far more depressing thought. Conspiracy is optimistic! You can shoot the bastards! We can have a revolution! But the networks are really in business to give people what they want. It’s the truth.

Steve Jobs

Elevator Courtesy

Elevators generally have this “feature” where they’ll stay open basically as long as somebody keeps hitting the button outside (up or down) or keeps hitting the “open door” button on the inside. That tends to be a pain when I get on the elevator and the door starts shutting, and somebody hits that button on the outside. Then the doors open, they come in, and the cycle repeats. I’ve literally stood in an elevator while people did that 5 consecutive times.

That’s not my big complaint, though. I mean, it’s definitely a complaint and people who do that piss me off.. If the door’s shutting, just deal with the fact that you missed the elevator. Anyway, what really pisses me off is when somebody gets on the elevator and starts slamming that “door open” button until all his friends drag their asses down the hallway and get on. I’ve had somebody do that for damn near 5 minutes. It’s just damn stupid. In that time, I could have gotten my ass off the elevator and caught another one. So why the fuck wouldn’t he just do the same?

Devil Class Exam Score

I got back my exam for Discrete Math. I pulled out a 37/50. Heh, 74%. That’s pretty good, though. The average was a 28/50, or a 56%. So when everything gets curved, that score will go up. Plus, I’ve done very well on the homeworks.

Just today they put up a “cumulative performance estimator”, which is basically the score they would give you today were they to give you a grade, and it appears to be uncurved. I have an 80.379. And from what I can tell, of the ~122 people in the class, only 10 are above an 80 with the max being an 87. So it appears that I’m in the top 10% of the class, which I’m pleased with.

So I figure, based on these numbers they post on their site of what percentage of students usually get what grades:

A: 15-30%
B: 30-40%
C: 30-40%
D,E: 10-20%

That being in the top 10% is pretty good. Yay for me!

Yum Cha

On Sunday, I went with a bunch of friends for Yum Cha. Yum Cha is a Chinese breakfast/brunch. The servers come around with carts of food, and you select what you want. It works a bit like Lamberts, except you don’t order your main course.

It was really good stuff, but I couldn’t tell you what most of it was. There were lots of minced meats in dumplings or rolled rice noodles. The most extravagent thing that I ate was chicken feet. They deep fried some chicken feet and then put some barbecue sauce on them. It was actually pretty good. You had to seperate out the bones in your mouth though, and it felt a little weird sticking a claw in your mouth.

The whole thing was a good experience though. It’s nice to see some other cultures. I don’t think I’m going to be able to eat regular American Chinese food again without thinking about that experience.

That’s not the only new thing I’ve tried though. Monday night, I had a Malaysian fruit called Durein(sp? pronounced dew-rain). It wasn’t bad at all. I doubt that I would eat it every day though. Today, I had Lebonese for lunch. It wasn’t all that exotic, so I the restaraunt I was in was probably quite westernized. It was pretty good though.
