Funny Limit

I was browsing Newegg today, as I do on a routine basis, when I came upon something I’d personally never seen before. I found it rather humorous, so I took a screenshot, highlighted the interesting portion, and uploaded it.

You can find it here. Just remember to find the portion I highlighted with red.

Wisconsin Vacation

Next week my family will be going to Wisconsin from the 5th to the 8th (I think). It should be fun. We’re going to meet a bunch of other family there and camp for a few days.

Camping is pretty cool. I think so, at least. That’s sort of a strange thing to say, too, from somebody who is so technologically/electronically inclined. I mean, it’s not like I bring my computer out there or anything. But like I said, it’s pretty cool. I get by just fine without a computer and Xbox by my side. Of course, I bring my GBA, but I rarely play that. I more or less just read and do stuff with the family.

Residence

These are the two places I’m looking at living in while in Sydney:

1) The Flo Harris Lodge
I’m staying here for the first week anyway. I’ll be in the Morton House. I like them because they have free DSL and food is included.

2) St. Barnabas Terraces
I like this place because it is only a five minute walk from the school and it looks real nice. I’m not sure yet how much they charge for internet and how fast it is because I haven’t been able to get ahold of them on the phone. My email will not send either, and that’s making me mad. This place doesn’t have food though, so I’d have to do my own cooking.

Linux

Some prominent Linux companies are planning to include Real Player in their next version. They think it will help legitimize their claim as a contender to Microsoft. Why don’t they make their own media player? Or include Winamp? Real Player sucks so bad it would make me want to keep Linux away from my system. Anyway, Here’s the link

Past Excerpts

I was just reading through the history of a past debate we had on the ‘ol DKS Weblog. I wanted to post a few parts of it.

I will say this: If this country changes at all in the next 4 years, and those changes are for the better, I will admit that I was wrong. I will admit that Bush has been a good president. But if I am right, and Bush has done nothing or the changes he has made have been stupid, then I’ll make sure everybody that has ever argued with me about this election knows that I told them it would happen. I’d be willing to bet anybody that, in the end, it will be that latter that will end up happening.

How many ways can I say, “I told you so.” The country is no better place than it was 4 years ago. Far too many people don’t realize this, though.

Scott: I don’t dislike Gore b/c he lies, even though he does.

Who’s the liar? No WMDs and no link between 9/11 & Saddam. It’s ok, though, let’s go to war anyway.

Scott: I also don’t like Gore b/c of his stance on abortion. He follows after Clinton, promoting the killing of innocent babies.

Bush has done nothing more to stop abortion than Clinton did. Both pushed for the stop of partial-birth abortions and 3rd trimester (sp) abortions. The bills of both got shot down.

Scott, on abortion due to a condom breaking: That is a load of crap. I think if ppl are going to have sex, it should be inside a marrige anyway.

Since this time, my opinion has definitely come full circle. I am totally against abortion, but I don’t think it should be outlawed. There are extreme cases where I cannot hold it against a woman – namely, rape.

Either way, I had to laugh at the comment about having sex inside a marriage. That’s entirely Scott’s opinion and has no bearing on real life. Personally, I think I should get a million dollars. That doesn’t mean anybody cares, so I shouldn’t really use it as an argument.

Scott: I don’t follow politics much, mainly b/c its a butt-load of crap.

Hehe. ‘Nuf said.

Scott: Actually I can’t honestly say the Bush is more intelligent that Gore, but he obviously has more common sense.

Mr. Common Sense. Ha. Could anybody say that with a straight face today? I’m still surprised somebody could then.

Kyle: i do believe that abortion is too “user friendly” and “easily accessible” in today’s society.

i hate the concept of abortion, let’s get that straight. and this is not a matter of whether i like bush more or gore more. it’s just certain circumstances, such as rape, or maternal death, i would have a very hard time telling that mother that she had to go through with her pregnancy.

Exactly. No arguments here.

Anyway, I was just looking through that and wanted to post it. It brought back memories. Heh. Seriously, though, somebody try and prove to me that the country a better place than it was 4 years ago. I dare you. And since you can’t, then remember that I said it wouldn’t be the minute Bush won.

Denist and Car

I went to the dentist today. I find it weird that my dentist tries to carry on a conversation when I have lots of crap in my mouth. It’s a little hard to talk when he’s bleeding my gums. He basically just made it a one sided conversation, and all his questions became rhetorical. A little weird if you ask me. People say I don’t talk enough, well I say other people talk too much.

I changed the oil in my car last night. I had forgotten how much I enjoy working on engines. Not that I would change oil for fun, but it’s way better than most other work. I wish I knew more about cars though.

Dead Tired

You ever have one of those days when you’re just dead? Don’t really feel like doing anything, super lethargic, etc. That’s me today. It sucks.

Too Lazy

One thing I’d actually like to change about myself is my laziness. I’m way to lazy, I think. Yes, I do have a job, and I believe that counts for something. Aside from that, though, I don’t really get anything done.

With my running/lifting now, I suppose that’s beginning to change. However, I haven’t reached any of the goals that I set for myself in regards to the site. I never worked on that new layout or anything like that. Maybe I’ll just switch the site over to the newer one I made a while back, but never actually implemented. That’s an idea.

Another goal I had this summer was to watch a ton of older movies that I’d never seen before, but are supposed to be good. You know, stuffly like Citizen Kane, Scarface, Rocky, etc. And like, there was a ton of them. An entire 2000 pounds worth. That’s a lot. So far I’ve watched one. That’s maybe about 8 oz or so. I’ve got a lot of ways to go.

News

According to the documents, President Bush claimed the right to waive anti-torture laws and treaties covering prisoners of war after the invasion of Afghanistan, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld authorized guards to strip detainees and threaten them with dogs.

The Bush administration on Tuesday more than doubled its count of people killed and injured by international terrorism in 2003 as it revised a faulty report used to argue it was winning the war on terror.

Oh, geez.. And this is the jackass that you people seriously believe deserves to be leading our country.

Lifting

My dad and I are going to start lifting tomorrow. That’s the plan, at least. I’d like to get a little bigger over the summer and then hopefully carry the routine on into the school year. Of course, that type of thing is definitely easier said than done… for me at least – I’m lazy.

In addition to that, I’ve started running sometimes. Jogging is a more accurate word, if you want to be technical. It’s good for me, I figure, as I’ll be getting in better shape. Plus, they always say it’s good for my heart or something. I suppose that’s never a bad thing.

It’s also good, though, because I take one of our dogs when I go. So they get some exercise, also. Widget has put on a little extra weight that we wouldn’t mind seeing her lose, so this is probably a good way to do it. Heh, hopefully I’ll actually keep it up, too.

Are you excited?

I must have heard that question a 100 times this month. If I tell someone I’m going to Australia, their natural first question is, when do you leave? July11. This is a good question to ask, because it’s not intuitive. The next question is always, Are you excited? I consider this to be about the stupidest question ever. People always say that there are no stupid questions, but this is an exception. Of course I’m excited, you should already know that without asking me. Why would I be going if I wasn’t excited about it? I mean seriously. It’s not like someone is forcing me to go. Maybe I should just be a smart-alec and say something like, “Nah, I don’t really want to go anymore, but I’ve already got the plane ticket. So I figured, why not?” Then I’d be lying though, because I’m actually counting the days. But in the future, please don’t ask me questions you already know the answer to.

I’m Rick James

In your eye, because most likely you don’t have a Gmail account. Who does? I do. So in your eye. douceur@gmail.com. Hit it up sometime. I want to get some email there. I rule.

Lakers

It looks like the Lakers are the next Bulls. I’m glad they are falling apart. Hopefully Kobe will go to a team I can like, because he is fun to watch, even though he is selfish.

Baseball and 24

So last night I went to the Cardinals game. We decided to leave in the 9th inning during a pitching change for the A’s. Right after that, the Cards scored 3 runs to come back and win the game. Sucks that we left.

I’m finding out just how good 24 is. I can’t stop watching that show. It makes me wonder though, if stuff like that actually happens in real life. With all this Homeland Security, I would think that they do actually stop some terrorists. I doubt that it is dramatic as 24, but I would think it sill happens. The sad thing is we will never know. It might be scary to know how many terrorists they really stop though.

Mozilla Product Updates

For those of you that use either Firefox or Thunderbird, the new versions have come. Heck, even if you don’t use them, I would suggest you check them out. especially Firefox, as I believe it to be the best browser currently available. I’ve been saying that for a while now, too. At least give it a shot.
