I was just reading through the history of a past debate we had on the ‘ol DKS Weblog. I wanted to post a few parts of it.
I will say this: If this country changes at all in the next 4 years, and those changes are for the better, I will admit that I was wrong. I will admit that Bush has been a good president. But if I am right, and Bush has done nothing or the changes he has made have been stupid, then I’ll make sure everybody that has ever argued with me about this election knows that I told them it would happen. I’d be willing to bet anybody that, in the end, it will be that latter that will end up happening.
How many ways can I say, “I told you so.” The country is no better place than it was 4 years ago. Far too many people don’t realize this, though.
Scott: I don’t dislike Gore b/c he lies, even though he does.
Who’s the liar? No WMDs and no link between 9/11 & Saddam. It’s ok, though, let’s go to war anyway.
Scott: I also don’t like Gore b/c of his stance on abortion. He follows after Clinton, promoting the killing of innocent babies.
Bush has done nothing more to stop abortion than Clinton did. Both pushed for the stop of partial-birth abortions and 3rd trimester (sp) abortions. The bills of both got shot down.
Scott, on abortion due to a condom breaking: That is a load of crap. I think if ppl are going to have sex, it should be inside a marrige anyway.
Since this time, my opinion has definitely come full circle. I am totally against abortion, but I don’t think it should be outlawed. There are extreme cases where I cannot hold it against a woman – namely, rape.
Either way, I had to laugh at the comment about having sex inside a marriage. That’s entirely Scott’s opinion and has no bearing on real life. Personally, I think I should get a million dollars. That doesn’t mean anybody cares, so I shouldn’t really use it as an argument.
Scott: I don’t follow politics much, mainly b/c its a butt-load of crap.
Hehe. ‘Nuf said.
Scott: Actually I can’t honestly say the Bush is more intelligent that Gore, but he obviously has more common sense.
Mr. Common Sense. Ha. Could anybody say that with a straight face today? I’m still surprised somebody could then.
Kyle: i do believe that abortion is too “user friendly” and “easily accessible” in today’s society.

i hate the concept of abortion, let’s get that straight. and this is not a matter of whether i like bush more or gore more. it’s just certain circumstances, such as rape, or maternal death, i would have a very hard time telling that mother that she had to go through with her pregnancy.
Exactly. No arguments here.
Anyway, I was just looking through that and wanted to post it. It brought back memories. Heh. Seriously, though, somebody try and prove to me that the country a better place than it was 4 years ago. I dare you. And since you can’t, then remember that I said it wouldn’t be the minute Bush won.
