My Physics discussion got cancelled, due to the fact that we haven’t had a lecture yet. So I don’t have class until 12, and even then I’ve only got two classes. Rawk.
Hm… I don’t really know what to say. I watched it for the first time today, and wasn’t very impressed, but I think it has potential.
Here’s my thing, though… I’m tired of every show or movie doing that bullshit where the guy gets fucked. The guy is the one to get fucked every damn time, and I’m tired of it. Let’s have some examples, shall we?
Ross got screwed in Friends. Granted, Rachel has a decent argument, but come on. Ross is the one who got fucked. After the whole incident, he was the one left out of most things. Maybe if Rachel wouldn’t have been so damn quick to break things off with him. I don’t care what anybody says, Ross had reason to be suspicious.
Dharma kissed another guy in Dharma and Greg. What the hell is that shit? It’s the guy getting fucked.
Along Came Polly. Guy gets fucked–that’s all I’ll say.
In Sweet Home Alabama everything turns out all happy. But wait a minute… What about the guy who she doesn’t marry? He gets fucked.
Who dies in Titanic? The guy.
Forrest Gump wasn’t much better off, either. I haven’t seen that movie in a while, but I seem to recall a part where the chick walks out on him for no reason.
Even in a movie like Mrs. Doubtfire, it’s the guy that gets fucked. The kids love the dad, but the wife fucks him anyway.
So anyway, in this last episode of The O.C. the guy got fucked. It just pisses me off. Come up with something original for once. Geez, like I didn’t know what was going to happen in that episode. I predicted it within the first 15 minutes (it’s an hour show), and I had never seen it before.
Haha. That show is funny. I always like the first part, the auditions, of these shows. I can’t believe that some of these people think they can sing. It’s amazing.
My only problem with it is that sometimes Simon does seem excessively mean to people who aren’t that bad. My guess is that he’s probably so frustrated with the rest of the people that he takes it out on them, but still.
Anyway, time to work on some physics. Yay.
Well, I went to see it tonight. It was an ok to good movie. I was expecting a little more of it, I guess. I don’t really know why, but I was. Probably had something to do with the fact that Ben Stiller is in it.
All and all, I definitely think it’s worth seeing, but I don’t know if I’d have gone to the theater for it if I’d have known what it was like.
i don’t actually watch the show, but i know jared and scotty do. i found the top 100 simpson’s moments on espn’s new page3. i visit page2 quite often, so maybe this’ll be good too.
Well, I went today to pickup my books that I had reserved. When I got there, it turns out they were only holding reservations until yesterday.
The stupid thing about that is that most people didn’t get here until yesterday, and the first day of classes were today. How hard would it have actually been to hold reservations for about a week?
Anyway, I was too lazy to walk around and find my books, so it looks like I’ll probably be heading back there later today.
just finished my first two classes — microeconomics and history of latin america. both were boring as expected. i expect micro to get better, but that dang latin america class is gonna be bad, i think. anyway, off to lunch and my next 3 classes.
The song California by Phantom Planet is a good song. If you don’t have it, you should. Thanks go out to Megan for pointing it out to me.
Well, I’m at school now. I’ve got to go sometime and buy a few more books that I didn’t get from Amazon (the place to get books), but I’m too lazy.
Obviously I’ve already set my computer up, but that’s about it. Heh. My bed doesn’t even have sheets on it or anything. Gotta have my priorities straight, I figure.
I’d forgotten how damn nice my fuckin monitor was, b/c I was using some shit monitor at home. This beast is, as they say, the shizzy.
I am leaving tomorrow morning to head back to school. That blows. I like it here and would much prefer not to leave.
Anyway, expect more updates once I get to school and have little to nothing else to do.
I went to the Rams game yesterday, and as you can guess it was a huge disapointment to me. Mike Martz did some really stupid crap. Especially on the final drive of the game. You gotta go for the win when you’re on the 15 yd line w/ 30 sec., a first down, and 1 timeout left. You’ve also gotta have enough urgency to get a play off before the 2 min warning when there’s 30 seconds to go. I also felt the Panthers got a freaking lucky break w/ that fumble for a touchdown. I don’t want to talk about this anymore b/c it makes me mad.
Instead, I’d like to talk about how people are dicks. I got road rage like no other on that trip. People seem to be getting more and more inconsiderate w/ their driving. Here’s what I mean:
1. I come up behind 2 cars, one on the right, one on the left. I’m in the left lane trying to pass them both. The car in the left lane is maybe going a few inches a second faster than the car on the right. This guy could have easily sped up and moved over. Instead, he continued his ultra slow pace and didn’t move over. I had to wait until I could get in the right lane to get around him.
2. This happened to me at least 5-10 times. I would be starting to drive past a car who was behind a semi. Right as I’m hitting the car’s blind spot, it cuts into the left lane so it can pass the semi. I have to slam on my brakes just so I don’t hit it. All so this car can pass a semi going 65 at a blistering 66. Why couldn’t these people wait the 30 seconds to get past them before they came into the left lane. Not one time was there a long line of cars behind me. The worst case of this was when I guy did this right after he merged onto the interstate. I got over to let him on, and then he cut me off hardcore. He couldn’t have even been going 65 when he did it.
If you even do this crap, you should stop.
Some super exciting stuff has been happening up here this week. We’re getting a new TV provider next year, which means we get to pick the channels we’ll have. We’re supposd to get 60-70 channels, which sure beats our 20ish w/ several repeats.
In other news, the parking lot below my dorm that was royally screwed up got fixed. They had to tear it up to run some power and water lines to the new residence halls they are building. The trenches they dug made it really muddy. I have to walk across this thing to get to my car and the recs center. The trenches are now covered in gravel, so hopefully the mud will go away.
I just finished ordering a pair of headphones from the internet. “Hm…” you say, “Why would Jared order headphones off the internet when he can just go buy them in the store?”
Well, my inquisitive reader, there’s a good reason for this. These are no ordinary headphones. Oh, of course not. These are Kinyo KY-100 5.1 Dolby Digital/DTS Surround Headphones. That’s right. In 4-5 business days, I will be in possession of surround sound headphones. Blam. Get to the clicking. Clicky clicky. Now.
[Edit:] Oh yeah. I also added a copyright notice at the bottom of the site. Just FYI.
yo. this is only like the 4th or 5th time i’ve been on the internet since i’ve been home, thus my lack of attention to shouzer. hopefully, the fam will get this newfangled broadband technology sooner than the day before i leave.
i gotta say that snowboarding was the funnest thing i’ve done in quite some time, as scotty mentioned. also like him, i didn’t get to see j’s butt-bruising spill, but i did see him take a heel-over-head flip down a slope on the first run down. i guess you can contribute that to the fact that it was the Black Diamond slope. yeah, jared and i accidentally went down the hardest slope at the resort as soon as we got there. heh, oh well, we both lived, though bruised. i can’t wait to go again.
anyways, guess that’s my update. it may be the only one for the break. but i’ll be back in action when school starts — not that i’m looking forward to that.
